Hey fellas, Just rebuilt my motor went with a flat tappet camshaft... at start up no noise at all from the lifters, once it hits operating temp it sounds like garbage... bad lifters?

maybe out of adjustment

yes i broke the cam in correctly... 20 mins at 2k, 5 mins at 2500, back down to 2k for 5 mins, 1500, etc

and like i said, its quiet till it hits operating temp, than you start to hear some valve train noise...

what kind of rocker arms you got?

i came to the conclusion that roller rockers on a 5.0 or 5.8 is going to be noisy no matter what.

what oil? what weight? 5.0s like a little heavier oil. and most 10w-40s and 20w-50s have more ZDDP in them, good for flat tappet cams.

running 20-50w oil and have stock 1.6 rockers...

if you have the stock rockers then they shouldnt make much noise.

i would say lifters or bent pushrods.
