Limited-Slip Differential

1150 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Kohaku
I am preparing to buy an 06 GT with automatic and I noticed the option of limited-slip differential for the automatics. I assume they come with the manual. Why would they do this with the automatic and are there any disadvantages to adding this option to my stang? Is there a decrease in gas mileage? I appreciate any help.

A limited slip rear shouldn't affect MPG at all. The only reason I could think of to not include it standard is to save money on the base units. I got a manual, and it was included. I would highly recommend getting the limited slip. During "spirited" launches, or in icy, wet weather, you'll wish you had gotten one.
