Limited-Slip Differential

I am preparing to buy an 06 GT with automatic and I noticed the option of limited-slip differential for the automatics. I assume they come with the manual. Why would they do this with the automatic and are there any disadvantages to adding this option to my stang? Is there a decrease in gas mileage? I appreciate any help.

So if you spend less getting the manual you even get Traction Lok? Sounds too good to be true.
