I'm a big fan of Fuelly.com and keep track of all my fillups through it. I've noticed on both my 2014 vehicles that using the in dash gauge usually shows about 5% to 7% lower mpg than calculating it manually. My wife drives a Chevy Tahoe and it's in-dash gauge reads about 8% higher than the actual gas mileage.

Best I've done with my 2014 Shelby GT500 with 3.31 gears/6-speed is 26.3 mpg running 65 to 70 mph. :surprise:

Best I've gotten with my 2014 Pony Package convertible V-6 /auto is 30.9 mpg. 0:)

Best on my 1970 Mach 1 with 351C-4V and Shakerhood is 22.6 mpg. I've kinda a cheated on this one as it has an updated 5-speed manual and 3.00 axle ratio. Still gets around 12 to 13 mpg around town though. :frown:

Don't have great comps to the OP, but I recently checked the computer average over the 500+ miles since I've had my car ('09 GT A/T, 119K miles, with mostly appearance mods that include axlebacks). That included two trips with about 200 miles each, the longer one being a Costco run from Beaufort, SC to near Charleston and the rest has been around town. I was going mostly 70-75 on the Costco trip. The other one was more like 75-85, and the around town has got to be pretty brutal, as I am, er, getting used to the power (and sound) of the vehicle  With all of that, I am averaging 19.6 MPH.

Just took a two-week 3500 mile road trip in my Dad's 2016 Ford Focus. Central Kansas to California near LA, then to Utah by Salt Lake City, and back to Kansas.

Things got pretty inaccurate with the in-dash trip mileage calculator as we went on; by the end of the trip it swore I was getting 57.2 MPG. However, more accurate (manual) calculation revealed that I pulled down an honest 37 MPG average, and I wasn't exactly feather-footing it. Made it home for Christmas. =)

Not bad, little Ford! Not bad!!

I've done a couple 2oo mile round trips and the best I can get is 17.6, I've done better in my old '89 LX which averaged 25 on the highway

I've gone 1K miles in my '09 GT now, with more city miles mixed into the second 500, and my computer average is 19.3. That's down a bit from the 19.6 I posted after the first 500 (mostly highway) miles. I've started to take the long route to the grocery the last couple weeks, which are highway miles, and beside being a lot more fun, I've actually seen the overall MPG go up two ticks from a low of 19.1. She likes to run

Mine was a 2 hour 2 block trip in my '66 Coupe. And I didn't use any gas at all. It was pushed down the alley, across the street and down my driveway to the back yard. Even with it's I6 engine I probably won't get any better gas mileage.

Longest were from Phoenix to Detroit and back, twice. Second of those was two 1k+ mile days each way. Don't recall the mileage. First was 2.5 days each way with side trips. Here is trip info pic pulling back in the driveway at home. 4,991 miles, 23.9 MPG, 78 hours ignition on time.

In my 2012 GT I can squeak about 26 mpg on a long trip. But I have to say technology can squeeze many miles from some other cars. This is from my 2019 Charger with a 6.4L (392) on a trip to W. Palm Beach in 2019 after a fill up on the turnpike. Hemi has MDS that activates 4 cylinder mode cruising. 18 gal tank with a 500 mile range.

470 miles: San Jose, CA to Redding, CA (Roundtrip); 31.3 MPG on a 2017 EcoBoost
I'd expect more from an EcoBoost given their marketing. But I had a 2018 ecoboost f150 for a minute and going from the cheapo dealership tires to real truck tires of the same size brought me down from 26mpg to 15mpg on the same i25 commute from Casper to Douglas. But its Wyoming... snow and mud more than pavement. After I hit Douglas its 3 hours down lease roads and pipeline ROWs so highway tread foesnt cut it. Either you ride on M/TS or you get stuck. I havent had a stock Ford tire last over 20k miles before blowing a sidewall out, and I've been driving Fords since God was a corporal. That's the only way Ford gets their MPG numbers.

To compare, my 2013 Nissan Titan with 5.6 n/a V8 gets the same mileage stock as it does with a 3 inch lift on FAT a/t tires... 14.5 mpg avg highway, city... if it's running it gets 14.5. No matter what. EPA says 11 / 17 city/hwy but I never got that bad or that good even loaded to the max. I think the EcoBoost is overrated and Ford tested it for mpg in a very specific way. Borderline cheating imho. But I have driven a 16 EcoBoost stang... I must say it was a really fun car. Completely different feel than my 04 GT. Performance is amazing but the economy claims Ford makes... total ********.
