hello,

For a few years now I've been checking out mustang fastbacks to get a range on the price I need to pay for a car. I've noticed the prices went up and the fastbacks became harder to find. I'm looking for a 1967-1968 mustang fastback to make to my tast. now I recently noticed Drake Customs, a factory making fastback body shells from coupes. I don't really mind the fact that is was a coupe, even if it will be harder to sell it when I want to. now these bodies don't have anything in them so I'll have to buy the interior, engine, transmission,... So my question is, would it be worth the $9000 for the body and than probable an extra $15000( or more) to compleet it?

thanks

Joshi

Simply put....No. Get an original. What they are doing is sacrilege. It doesn't matter who is doing it. The car will have potential issues with fitment and structural integrity.

So your saying it would give me problems with installing the interior? Or also exterior parts? but they are mad from dynacorn parts and they are used to fix up original mustang fastbacks so i don't really get the problem. but thanks for your respose

There are still cars out there, give you an idea I found a 1970 Sportsoof a while back for $1,000 it was a factory V8 car, disc brake car, power steering car missing just about everything.

The drake cars are great for guys building the Gone in 60 seconds cars (kind of getting old), or guys that want to do other really bad things to fastbacks. If you just want a nice clean original style car, you can find fastbacks, becuse you are talking about $24K total.

Here are just a few within 30 miles of my house.

68 Fastback for $6,250

67 Fastback for $16,900

67 Fastback project $9,900

thanks for the help guys :shiny: I think I found a nice car for me for a very good price. Its a 1968 fastback s-code 4speed with an ok engine and some rust in the floor and the quarter panels for 11k. I think that will be a good buy. I will keep post it if I buy a car.

thanks
