Looking for Nylon Tabs/Spacers for seat track

I am rebuilding the bucket seat tracks in my 1966 coupe and I am missing some of the nylon tabs or spacers that fit in the seat bar. Finger Hand Cutting tool Thumb Tool

Does anyone know where to get reproductions or used originals? I can find them anywhere.

I think they actually call those the bushings. I have some extra ones, but for the reasons you've stated, I really don't want to part with them otherwise I'd send some to you.

I would contact West Coast Classic Cougars. I can almost guarantee you they will have some originals.
Helllo. :) How many do you need? :)
If your needs fit within Veronica's generosity with her large stash of parts you are in luck. Otherwise I think those are a 'make-your-own' part.

As far as a part number I doubt there was one. Its part of what Ford called the seat track assembly; 61704/5. Only the supplier would know what the internal parts of the assembly were called. The closest you can probably come today is to buy the whole assembly.

Hi again. :) It's purely enlightened self-interest on my part. I have waaay too much junk like that sitting around taking up space, obscuring the thing that I'm actually looking for, tripping me occasionally, etc... I know that I will never need a small coffee can full of these things. If Josh decides he that he's going to do a concours restoration on his 69, a day is coming in which I will make him very happy. :)

Veronica you already make me very happy :). However I will be more than happy to contribute to your kids' college fund in exchange for some original parts. I prob won't go 100% concourse but i will still go original.

I this these bushings would be very difficult to make. They have a slight crown on them that would be needed to maintain the correct resistance.

Veronica you already make me very happy :)
Hi again. :) Thank you, Josh. That is very sweet of you, but, I doubt if I make you as happy now as I will when I save you hundreds and hundreds of dollars on extremely hard to find stuff for your car. :gringreen Without going on a voyage of discovery in my attic or closets, I know that I have a really nice pair of 428CJ rocker shafts with everything still on them, the correct fuel pump for your car, the correct heat shield and 'S' tube that go to the breather snorkel, a C9AF-9510-U carburetor whiich is the correct factory replacement for your car, a really nice C9OF-9510-H carb, which is correct for a 69 Torino that came with a 428 Cobrajet, ( The C9OF is a whole lot prettier.) and, I'm pretty sure that I have a couple of really nice oil pans for that car. Once you actually start working on the car, I'll start poking around for real and see what all I have that you can use. And, this stuff is on the same program as the those little teflon slide thingies. I have absolutely no use for it now, and I won't have any use for it in the future. The reason that I know off the top of my head that I have the stuff I mentioned is because I seem to be continually moving it out of my way to look for something that I actually do need. :)
These teflon like slides are not that hard to make. The labor part is in filing down the one side that has the locator finger that holds it in place. I made several replacements in a few hours a few months ago when I put my seats in my '66. Maybe not concours, but my seats are in. Several of those big companies that sell all sorts of hardware sell pieces of various plastics.

Pretty good looking for a hand-made part. Other than the owner I doubt anyone is ever going to see those as long as the seat works correctly.
Veronica,
It looks like i have 3 broken nylon bushings between my two front seats. If you would be willing to part with them, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Hi again. :) If you can PM me an address to send them to, I'll get them right out. :)

So how do you accrue all of this stuff??? I will need an entire shaker scoop assembly; all I have is the snorkel. Keep all your stuff! Because I'll probably be able to clean you out of house and home on '69 parts. Lot of missing parts on my car so won't be a cheap venture by any stretch. :x

Hi again. :) Which reminds me, I also have a couple of original shaker assemblies sitting around here somewhere. :)
The reason that I have all of this junk is quite simple, actually. I have all sorts of stuff sitting around that I picked up in days of yore when I was doing this for a living, and, if I see something sitting at a swap meet that somebody might need someday, I go ahead and get it. Not so much recently, but, I used to be bad about that. I have absolutely no use at all for 69 stuff because I don't have a 69, and I don't see that I ever will. If I do decide to sell my car and get something else, it will certainly be a 65/66 of some sort, so, there is functionally a supermassive black hole in the center of my house as far as parts that won't work on a 65/66 Mustang go. If you cleaned me out, you would be doing me a favor, but, don't worry, you won't. Not even close. :)
Hi again. :) Josh, I tried to send you a PM, but, apparently, your inbox is full. :)
Veronica, My father just had his front seats on his '65 Pony re-covered and the person lost the plastic bushings and the bearings as well on the passenger side. The seat will work but not like before. Do you still have the bushings and bearings and if so, could I pay you to send them to my dad in NC? Then when I come back to see my parents we can take the seat out again and put it back together properly.

Thanks so much!!!

Yael
