loud whine at startup

hey guys I was curious if you can help me out with this. I am at close to 20,000 miles but I have developed this sound from my car after around 10,000 miles. When I start the car up it does an annoying whine noise which slowly goes away if I give it gas. This started before I had any mods and I often asked my dealership to check my alternator out and mentioned this noise. They just told me that my alternator is fine and I should wait until this noise becomes more frequent. This happens every few days on a start up

here is a video of what it sounds like, but this is not my car

You’re always welcome to get a second opinion at a different Ford Dealer, but let’s get this escalated for you, Cem Sengul. Please, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

Sounds like an alternator or serpentine idler pulley to me. Obviously not normal.
grab a piece of hose and use it as a stethoscope.
I appreciate your help Deysha, right now is finals week for me, so next week I would be able to go to my dealership, I can pm you a little later if that's okay, because I have had this problem for a while and it hasn't gotten worse.

I just thought I should mention, it happens once every few starts in the day, lets say I start my car 3 times in a day, it will happen either on the second or third ignition.

It’s no problem, Cem Sengul. I’ll keep an eye out for your PM.

well, tomorrow I will drop it off at my dealership to see if they can fix it. I just feel really nervous because I really do not think they are going to solve it because I checked online on other forums and have found other people who have the same problem and they all say the same thing, they dropped it off at their dealership and they couldn't fix it. I just can not believe that there is no solution for this.

I will keep you guys informed about how it goes through, and if they fix it or not

It's probably the alternator pulley. Mines makes a whine if I turn off my car after driving it and come back after awhile and start it up again. Took it in to the dealership and they told me it's probably just moisture. I call b.s. And I'm almost to the point of just replacing it myself.

You’re welcome to bring it in to a different Ford Dealer for a second opinion, GlassTopSix. Also, send me your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number as well.

My car has done that for a long time. Only does it when you start it after the engine is warm. It has never done it on a cold start. I've always wondered what it was. But when I was searching the forums about it two years ago it seemed like a common issue and no one said it ever gave them problems so I've just dealt with it. Yours sounds a little louder than mine. Obviously some kind of pulley/belt noise.

oh that video is not of my own car but mine is just like it, really loud at warm starts. Weird thing is I know other V6 mustangs that never experienced this, but in my college parking lot, there is one 3.7 that always makes this noise
