Lowering 2009 GT/CS

Hello all,
I hope this is the right place to ask this, if not, sorry. April of this year I finally got my first mustang. I had some money left over and thus my modding fever began. So far, I just did the basics - CAI, a tune, and axle-backs. I have always wanted to lower my car (even my last car a '97 Altima) but never could do it until now. I saw American Muscle had some springs for a great price so I ordered them & a panhard bar. Now I am wondering if I bought a good combo of parts and if the California Special font fascia will be prone to scrapping. I got the SR Performance Lowering Springs (1.5" drop) and the J&M Adjustable Panhard Bar. Right now I BARELY clear parking blocks with a mm or 2 to spare so I know I will have to park fully behind the parking block. So, do you guys think it's a good combo or did I rush into this?
Thanks in advance

That's what I'm currently running with my CS front and rear...exactly. It is low...I scrape very rarely, just have to enter/leave at an angle. I also have the GT500 chin spoiler, so everytime I scrape in the front it wears away little by little on the chin spoiler and not the paint. :bigthumbsup
Cool, glad to find someone with this exact setup, thanks for the input. You have a GT500 chin spoiler attached to the CS front fascia?

I have a 13 GT and have been saving to lower mine since I got it for better handing and cornering.
I just ordered the SR Springs, SR Panhard bar and Koni Struts and Shocks. Shocks and Panhard are on backorder. Hope they get here sooner than later.
Let us know how the ride is using the stock struts and shocks.
I will have to save for the Sway bars and relocation brackets.

Awesome! I will post back up and let you know how the ride is. She's already rough over speed bumps, hopefully she won't get too much stiffer.

Yup! The GT500 chin spoiler outline matches the gt/cs front fashia fairly good.

I just replaced my stock shocks/struts because the ride was really rough/lose. Every bump the struts would shake and my shocks would just bounce around. I installed a J&M steel PBH, SR Performance LCAs, SR 1.5" drop springs, and Koni SRT shocks/Struts. It made a HUGE difference. I'm still considering Whiteline's Relo kit for the lower control arms...still noticing a little bit of play, but that will have to wait until I get my new rims set up.

I always prefer to lower my Mustangs. Sure you have to be careful around parking blocks. But it's worth it for the performance improvement.
I have always had to park back from curbs / parking blocks, even before I was lowered. Some are taller than you think, so it is a good habit to get into.

1.5" drop is a little agressive IMHO, but not crazy low. My car is lowered 1" and I don't have any trouble with scraping, even though the roads are pretty bad around here. You do need to be conscious of it; for example there are a couple driveways that I avoid because the entrance is real steep and I know I will probably hit.

So anyway, I think you are good, try it you'll like it!

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll upload some pics after they're installed. I should have them on her sometime late next week!
I put Ford Racing P springs on my 09 GT. Drop was 1 inch which was perfect for me.

Nice looking CS, you don't see many with the white stripe, I too have to watch how I park.

Thanks for noticing! I believe 2009 was the only year you could choose white as an option for the CS stripe. I've only ever seen one GT/CS kinda in my area with a white stripe but it was a red and had a hood scoop. Most do, but mine came from the factory without one. When I first got the car I wanted to put a AM hood scoop on her but shortly after I came to my senses & realized my plan for the car. I want to leave the exterior 100% stock, with the exception of the drop.

Just installed the springs and PHB tonight and it looks great! I know I have to give it a while to settle but it already is a significant improvement over stock. Ride quality seemed the same but I did notice it was a lot bouncier over a speed bump (probably going a little too fast). It also felt a little tighter in the turns. I'll upload some pics soon.

*EDIT*
I uploaded a pic of the drop in my gallery if you care to see it
