I traded in my 12V6 manual for a 13 GT manual last week and so far absolutely love the new GT. But I am curious if the shifter or bracket is any different between the two? Granted my GT only has 125 miles on it so far but I have missed 3rd a few times now and don't recall ever having missed a gear in my 12 V6. Otherwise the car is great, generally is easier to shift smoothly and rides quite a bit better than my 12 did.

I believe they are the same design but the GT have beefier components. I never had any miss-gear with mine so far, all the gears engage smoothly.

I believe the earlier ones had more inconsistant springs, the later ones may have stronger springs. When aiming for 3/4 just push/pull the shifter forward/back let the centering springs find those two gears for you. When (ex) shifting from 6 to 5 remember to compensate for the strong spring or you can hit 3rd instead. I took the time to practice the 5th gear cruising then 3rd or 4th gear quick downshift for passing move after flubbing it a couple of times. Now I do it sometimes just for fun. On mine (and others) with the tight gates and strong springs you need to learn to work with them and let them do their job or be firm and tell them I really want 2nd not 4th. good luck hope it'll work for you.
