Have repaired old speaker holes in the lower front doors on my 64.5. Now the new patch is smooth and does not have the crinkle finish like the rest of the lower panel.
Is there a paint to match the finish or some technique to do this?
Once you have the patch welded in and the filler smoothed out the only thing you can really do is use a Dremel with a fine pointed bit and put random grain in. I have seen it done. Depending on how good you are you may get it decent but the few I saw weren't factory perfect and I doubt it would be possible but having SOME faint grain there was better than having nothing. Time consuming too.
