OK well I have a MMR CAI followed all instrutions, I did not tune, and I dont have the H/C, none from factory. This AM I got a CEL, any one know if I can still run with this MMR CAI, and not get a tune, and keep the CEL light off? Thanks Tim

I think that you have to tune, I did the MMR CAI and the SCT 2, and the difference is HUGE!!!!!!!! So worth the extra 400 bucks, tune for 91 octane. It made up for the bit of sluggishness I got after putting on 20" wheels.
At over $3.00 a gallon for 91, and its my daily driver, I'm going to see what happens with just the MMR. MMR says that I dont need a tune, we shall see, I jsut did the battery trick, now its time for a cruise.:laughlitt

You WILL need a tune. I have the MMR CAI and the CEL came on within 10 miles of driving. I cleared the light many times and it still came back. I even tried the 1000 mile drive that MMR said I should do so that the computer would "learn" how much air was passing the MAS. The computer on the 05 does not like to see a high flow of air coming from the MAS and will set a CEL. I bought a SCT X2 with three tunes, 87 road, 91 road, and 91 street race and have not had a CEL since It is worth the price even for a daily driver like mine.

By the way the picture of the yellow 05 CAI and engine cover on the MMR web site is my car.
Please understand that your car is running lean! I know MMR and that they say a tune is not neccessary yet they have all kinds of disclimers and will not buy you a new block nor heads! Get a tuner AND tune! There are so many other gains than engine longlivity you're missing out on without it anyways!
