TB will require a tune, manifold will require a tune, at least because of the fact that it deletes the IMRC butterflies. Shorty headers would not require a retune.

How much PSI are you running right now and how much HP are you putting down? A TB and manifold would drop the resistance in your intake track, allowing you to flow air into the combustion chamber more easily, however if you are already pushing the limits on your motor you might not want/need to do that.

If you have your tuner, the most important thing is out of the way, whatever setup you will do will be calibrated properly. Who are you going to use to make your custom tune? I'd also ask the same question you posed here to your tuner, they normally know which pieces will cause issues (ala the throttle body stock or larger).

Dude, I wouldn't buy a single mod you listed. Power is made through boost in your situation. No reason to spend $700 on a manifold for 8rwhp. Just change pullies. You want more power, that's how you do it. Throttle body is a waste too unless you are looking to push over 500rwhp and that is gonna need forged internals.

Stock

Stock Manifold is good with Long Tubes Charge Motion Delete Plates Cold Air Intake and simple Paxton Charger. So save the 500 Bones and get a Catch Can and some Pulleys. Some NSR Cams Stage 2 from Comp Cam. My 2 Cents.

You didn't say longtube headers. You want more horespower, but you don't want to add boost... you might have a misconception about boost vs horsepower on the internals. The pressure is not the issue, your motor doesn't care. Torque and high rpm's will kill a stocker. There is no difference in engine safety between a 450rwhp 3v with 10psi or 2psi given the same horsepower/torque output. The integrity of the rods and pistons don't care about psi considering the explosion that takes place per combustion will exceed that 10psi all day long. Plenty of folks on 500rwhp without issue for years on the stocker. The recommended safe stopping point is 450rwhp and don't set the redline past 6200.

I have never trusted hp numbers. I have witnessed 500 rear wheel on one machine being 400 on another (same car, same boost, no tuning).

I had a Procharger on the 06 before going turbo and taking the car offroad for dragracing only. My car went 10 flat at 135+ on 22lbs boost...no idea of hp...just not something we ever talked about. Dynotuning was done for trying to keep the motor whole and car never raced without the tuner datalogging after each run.

As far as people running 500 for years with no problems. First it might not be 500. Second how was the car driven? Racing on the street is entirely different to racing on a prepped surface with sticky tires. Spinning on the street diverts most of the energy away from a car's frame. Not so at the dragtrip. I know a lot more folk blowing up built motors (including me) than stock motors. You know when the track is well prepped....watch all the transmissions and rearends that pop.
