Hey everyone. I just bought a 1965 Mustang Coupe w/ the original V8 289 in it, as a restoration project. I've been looking online for a performance Ford longblock crate motor, originally looking for a 351 Windsor, but I can't seem to find one. I want an older model engine style, similar to my 289, but I want more horsepower, hopefully around the 400-450 range, just to show up the imports you know? If anyone can help me with a website or anything, it would be much obliged. Thanks

The 351W is a tight fit in the '65/'66 Mustang and will require some serious cooling upgrades. You might look at the various 302 based strokers, 331" and 347" are the most common. Those would bolt right in where the 289 was and be undetectable. Coast High Performance, FRPP, Speedomotive are a few names I can think of.
