Hey guys, I'm trying to decide which company to go with for tuning my 2014 V6 AT. I've seen other threads comparing all of the tunes or a few, but I have yet to come across a thread specifically for these 2 companies. I'd like to know which one you guys would go with, strictly between these 2, and why? Is one better for lows and one better for highs? Etc...

I had MPT and loved it. I had some issues with my auto shifting and i did some datalogging with them. They made my car exactly like i wanted and it was pretty quick. It was a much much better tune than the bama. Idk anything about lund. I doubt you could go wrong with either

What kind of issues? I'm still new to the Mustang world and not deeply knowledgeable with cars in general... What is data logging, how does it work, what is the purpose, etc..

when i would floor and i would hit 3rd gear (after being normal through 1st and 2nd) it would down shift back to 2nd for some reason and I would just feel embarrassed if anyone would have seen me. But i datalogged it (i connected my computer to the tuner and tuner to the car and it copied exactly what my car was doing during that issue) then sent MPT that file and they changed some parts of my tune. They got it to where i would chirp 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear even somethimes and keep going without that weird downshift issue.

Chirping in 3rd gear? That's impressive...

I ended up giving MPT a call and talked to them, decided to give them a shot.

I have both. My Jon Lund tune cost me $200. The MPT tune (i have 3 MPT tunes) i run cost $75 and pulls harder than my Lund tune. I run the MPT tune all the time :)

My automatic will bark in 2nd gear and chirp in third also :)

^^^Ditto, I have both also. In my opinion $200 wasted on my Lund tune that I don't use. I use MPT exclusively.

I will say this though, my Lund tune was better then my Bama tune. The bottom end felt the same but Lund had more top end over Bama.

MPT destroys both.

If you guys are Facebook users, we have a huge userbase that has both tuners (overwhelmingly MPT) and can offer a ton a feedback. Search "Cyclone Mustangs"

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear that you had some issues with your Bama Tune. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your current set up but I'd love the opportunity to make things right for you. I'm confident that the Bama team can get you set up and enjoying their most recent V2 tune update.

Bama has been hard at work completely revamping their tunes. They just released V2 tunes for the 2005+ Mustangs. The V2 tunes feature a complete remap of the electronic throttle calibration for improved throttle response, for the Auto guys it's a complete redesign of the shifting characteristics, shift points, torque converter lock/unlock, fuel map changes, spark map changes and a refocus on the twin independent and variable cam for improved drive-ability and maximum performance! Along with much more..

These were literally just released over the last month or so! Is this something you'd be willing to try? It's completely free since you already have free tunes for life. I'd love your honest feedback!

If so, shoot me an email with some information on your build and I'll make sure you're in contact with Bama's Lead Calibrator right away. We really appreciate your business and would love to make sure you're enjoying your Bama custom tune.

Just let me know! dan[dot]bailer[at]americanmuscle[dot]com

Also, Bama has always been a leader in Mustang tuning, especially the 2011+ platform. Bama became the first 2011 V6 into 11's as soon as the car was released! Bama would be happy to work with everyone in here and would love your business and honest feedback! Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. My email is attached and/or you can PM me at any time!

I'll make sure you guys are in good shape.

Check out the V2 Tunes Overview Video!

I sent you a PM, but didn't hear back so I just went ahead and ordered new tunes.

Are you sure the V2 tunes are out for the V6's? From what has been posted online the V2 tunes are out for the 2005+ GT's only. I sent the request for new tunes on Tuesday, but I didn't check the YouTube videos until now. I should get new tunes next week, I guess we'll see if they are any different.
