Msd 6al Idle Problem

I Just Installed The 6al And I Am Having Idle Problems. When I Start The Car In The Morning The Idle Surges From Around 300 Rpm To About 1100 Rpm And Does This For A Few Minutes. Once It Stops The Car Idles At About 550 Rpm. Also, When I Drive The Car It Starts To Buck Or Surge Between 1700 To 2000 Rpm, But Runs Fine Afterward. I Checked The Timing And It Is Set At 14 Degrees. I Also Installed New Plug Wires When I Installed The 6al. I Thought About Checking The Tps, But I Don't See How The 6al Would Affect The Setting. I Also Thought About Checking The Ect Sensor. The Car Did Idle Fine Before I Installed The 6al. Has Anyone Had Idle Problems After Installing A 6al? Any Thoughts Or Suggestions? Thanks.

I know that MSD warns about where you run the cable that runs from the distributor to the control box. If it is near a spark plug wire or some other source of RF interferance you maybe getting false signals from the distributor pickup. They (MSD) tell you to run the cable where it will be shielded by metal objects. I ran mine over the A/C unit and as far away from the wiring harness and spark plug/coil wires as I could.
