i hooked up an msd 6a to my 88gt and my rpms go up and down by it self it only goes up to 1500 or 2000 one of the two i dont know if i have to drive my car for a while to see any changes or what can i do i disconnected the box as soon as this happened :?:

Does it go up the rpms without any trouble when you press the gas?

Sounds like your ground may be weak.

You may also be picking up false signals in the cable from the distributor to the MSD box. You can try rerouting it away from other wires (try shielding it by running it through the bracket for the A/C / power steering).
