I am the type of person who likes to do his own repair or upgrade.
For the life of me I cannot get my cat-back exhaust upgrade to sit with level or flat horizontal muffler's. They are at an angle of probably 10 to 20 degrees. If I position them level the tailpipe and tips are way too high. What am I doing wrong? Should I just force the tips down after tightening? Is the angle safe enough to drive? Is this normal? Magnaflow directions are very vague. Magnaflow street cat-back. 1994 Mustang GT.

I remember having a similar problem with my 1991 GT. I'd guess that the bending of the tailpipes aren't done right or perhaps the welded hanger brackets on the mufflers/pipes aren't quite long enough. I'd call Magnaflow and see what they have to say.

I will try one more time by adjusting the forward pipes closest to the cats so the front sits lower but then I feel the mufflers sit too low under the chassis instead of inside the formed wells. The isolaters or rubber brackets restrict the movement up or down behind the mufflers.

That likely won't make much/any difference since the muffler hangers will largely dictate their position. Also, lowering the front of the muffler will raise the back of it making the situation even worse.

As long as you have decent clearance between the mufflers and the body (along with the tailpipes) its purely cosmetic.
