I have an '84 GT. I would like to know:
1. If it is possible to mount the '83 backwards facing scoop to where it is forward facing.
2. If you can (with a little cutting) run an '87 or later hood on an '84 (really nice '87 hood, like stock but with a centered SVO scoop).
3. If if could use a blower style scoop without sucking too much crap into my engine (Oh, and this would be with a hole cut in the hood). HILBORN STYLE AIR SCOOP-SINGLE - AIR INTAKES/FILTERS - Mr. Gasket

You can do what you want but to run a later hood you will need to run the later front clip and headlights. Open hoods do not really have an issue with debris thats what an air filter is for.

That's what I thought about the later hood. I hoped that cutting it might work, but I don't want to lose the front clip. The four eyed foxes are my favorites.
