Mustang 2010 V6 Gear Shift Problem

1515 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  FordService
Greetings from Saudi Arabia,
I'm having a problem with my 2010 V6 4.0L Ford Mustang (manual). The gear gets stuck when I try to shift especially from neutral to first and from first to second gear.

I have changed the clutch but the problem remains.
I've noticed difficulty in shifting since I bought the car but recently it's been much worse. Just imagine people behind me getting crazy at the traffic light when it turns green and I can't move :(.

It seems to my that it's a gearbox factory problem but I'm not an engineer therefore I would like to ask for an advice before I go on and pay a fortune to change it.

Thank you in advance for your help..

Have you noticed the clutch pedal hasn't completely come back up, oe have you really beat on it, and row through the gears, shifting at redline? I had/have the same problems w/ my '07, and I've noticed the clutch pedal needs to be randomly pumped to rebuild pressure, almost as if there is a leak somewhwre. I have tested the system, checkwd for leaks, and the only thing answer I can come up w/ is that the master cylinder is a turd, and has an internal leak. Try pulling thr pedal back out as far as possible, then pump the clutch a few times. Another issue I had, is bent shift forks from really beating on the car hard. This made the shifts very difficult, even keeping me from shifting into first from neutral. Try putting it into third and then second then up to first. This is something I have to do regularly.
