Well long story short, I have a 2001 bullitt with a seized engine. I am trying to prepare for the worst of the worst and have many questions. Would a crown Vic block be a direct swap if mine is cracked? I'm looking to out out about 400 hp so what parts should I replace? Definitely throwing a cam in it! What's your guys and gals other thoughts, opinions, and recommendations?

I'd be thinking about going forced induction for that kind of power out of a SOHC motor. Granted i'm sure with the right cams, and a set of trick flow heads and some light fuel mods it will put you close to those numbers. Do some research on what numbers guys are putting out on N/A motors and you'll find out real quick hp doesn't come easy/cheap on a 2v mod motor. But by the time you have invested all the money in those parts plus tuning i would think a low boost supercharger would be more economical IMO. Crown Vic block will your car as well.

^ What he said.

You can build a 400rwhp 2V, but it isn't cheap. Check my threads, I created one a while back about a guy I found on another forum who built an absolute monster 2V n/a (there's a link posted in my thread). Don't recall exactly, but I wanna say he was into it about $8K.

With a blower, you can achieve the same power for about $4 - 6K depending on what blower, fuel setup, and how much of the work you do yourself.

Any stock 4.6 bottom end will safely hold up to 400rwhp (figure that's about 450 at the flywheel). Any more than that and forged components become a necessity.
