just as the tag lines say's, what is the difference in nubers between the two? i had my 2007 v6 lay down 350rwhp and 355rwtq on a dyno jet. i just had it retuned on a mustang dyno and swapped software from the diablo sport to the sct. it laid down 325rwhp and 305rwtq. is this right? i feel that i have actually lost some power according to the numbers. i have not picked it up from the place yet but they told me that if it were on a dyno jet it would have put down about 375hp and comperable tq. is this true? i need help. i pick it up monday and i would like to know if they are full of it and gave me a weak tune, or are they correct and i will be very happy? please help, thanx guys.

no, on a mustang dyno, i laid down 325hp and 305tq.
on a dynojet it laid down 350 hp and 355tq. i really don't know what the real difference is.

It's usually around 5% difference. A mustang dyno will always read lower than a dyno jet unless you put it on a dyno jet that can be loaded like a mustang dyno. My car put down 463rwhp and my tuner even said it would be around mid 480's if it was on a dyno jet. If your tuning and want to keep track of what mods adds what power, it's best to stick to the same dyno/shop. Also dyno jet to dyno jet or mustang dyno to mustang dyno will read different.

oh and if they said you put down 325rwhp on the mustang dyno and it would have been 375rwhp on a dyno jet, they are idiots and i wouldn't use them anymore.

My understanding is that a Mustang Dyno's numbers can be approx 10-12% lower then a Dyno Jet's...

interesting thread, wondered the difference myself. so dyno jet is unloaded, whereas mustang dyno is loaded and closer to real world #'s. ive never dynoed a car so im new to the dyno scene.

anyone know why they call it a "mustang dyno"? i think its cool we got our own dyno and all, but always wondered about the origin of the name.:cooldude:

ok, i am back. i test drove it and it feels alot smoother, very street friendly. wot, she gets really nasty. it really comes alive. i'm not sure if it's faster than it was before, but i know it's not slower, infact, i think i can feel a bit more power, but i'm not positive. i hit 2nd gear on the test drive and she walked sideways through second and i got her straight about half way through 3rd. the tuner said that the sct tuner was a big key on getting the tune right on. he also said that we could get more power out of it, but he didn't want the tune to be dangerous to the motor. over all, i'm happy with it. now that i found them, i will never go anywhere else for dyno tuning. Here in the houston area, Bumbera's Performance Associates are the ones to go to.
the final numbers on a mustang dyno are 335rwhp and 305rwtq
thanks for all the input guys!

bad news! houston, we have a problem. the wife and i took her out to get some food and play with the pony a bit. first off, it sounded deeper, and the rpms are erratic and hang too long. second, she died on me in a parking lot just idleing. she starts to bog at low rpms. and the final complaint is the power loss. it almost sounds like it's on the verge of detonation. the wife said "aw, hell no!" so i will be giving them a call in the morning and see what they have to say about it. untill then my wifes want's me to reload the diablo dyno tune, so it will run as strong as it did before. this sux. back to the drawing board i guess.

:sadcryupdate: this is getting bad. we test drove it and it came back with a dead miss. i came out of third at about 4900 rpms, and there it was. started running like poo. they said that they would find out what was wrong and then retune it with a more aggressive tune. this is turning into a nightmare. makes me want to cry.

ok, last update. bumberas tried to send me an email tune to fix the problem. after paying that much, all i get is a e-mail tune. well, i will never go back. never, never, and never. i took it back to houston performance with the sct tuner and wow, lots more power! this thing has never been this fast. everytime i hit first and second, i have to let out of it. this thing just gets evil. when i hit third, she spins the tires for about a full 2 seconds some times a little longer.
i gave it some time to make sure it was right, and well, it is. i will never go anywhere else ever again. houston performance is number one in my book. i am totally satified.
