mustang exhaust systems for a 1966 Mustang

i have a 1966 mustang and i want to put a really mean exhaust system i was thinking long tube headers with sraight 4" pipes with slp loudmouths mufflers , would that be any good.

Hello.:) It would probably sound good, but it would actually make the car run worse. You would lose a lot of torque with that. Hope that helps.:)

You probably don't need over 2.5" pipes

I would think 2.5" exhausts would be plenty..........

Back pressure is your low end torque big exhaust=no back pressure.2.5 inch with 3 inch tips is the biggest id ever run unless its a turbo engine.

Especially since these old bad boys are catless... the 4 inch is just way too big. Trust me, you'll get a good, deep tone with 2.5 pipes, LT's and your mufflers...
