The accident is allegedly the result of a Mustang on Mustang daytime street race gone wrong in Palmdale, California. Observers claim the silver Mustang was racing with a white Mustang before a red light intervened.
The white car managed to slip through the intersection unscathed, but the silver 'Stang caught the attention of a Mercedes which promptly T-boned it into a telephone pole shearing the Ford in half.
Drivers were taken to hospital following the crash, however, a passenger in the Mustang is the only one in critical care but is expected to survive.
The horrible irony of the situation is that the cars were street racing literally minutes from the legendary Willow Springs Motorsports Park...
