lol yeh them el caminos arent all that fast, I bet it pissed him off that you ran him in your stang and it was that bad. My friend has a 96 neon, 420A engine code (2nd gen non turbo eclipse motor) and he outran an el camino on the highway.

My friend owns an '82 El Camino and one day we decide to see how it holds up to my '66 Mustang. So we find a stoplight on a nice straight road. I let him take off and get out of the intersection before I hit the gas. Before I am in second, I am even with him and as I'm shifting, I'm flying by him. It wasn't a fair race at all, but he always said his El Camino could beat my Mazda6 ('03 v4), which I also beat him in. It was a little fun embarassing him.
