So My cams are finally getting installed within the next two weeks. I have a sct xcal 3 I ordered from AM with free tunes for life. Has anyone used the mail order tunes from bama after they installed their cams? Every tune I have got from them has been on the money but some performance shops say that the mail order tunes sometimes don't work. ( I have a strong feeling they just want another $150-$250 from me) I find it very hard to believe because one of the tuners from bama actually has the same cams and obviously knows how to tune the car. Any info. is greatly appreciated thanks.

If you ordered the Cams from AM they should fix you up with an updated Tune since you have the Tunes for Life. If you didn't purchase them from AM they may tell you that you're SOL. Should they know how to tune your car, yes. Will they, ? I know the FRPP cams come with tuning specs so that it can be done via email tune. For optimum performance, obviously, you can't beat a dyno tune. Pull your heads off and get 'em ported and polished for even better performance :winks

well I have good news for anyone interested in buying the tuner they revised the rules about the free tunes. You don't have to buy a part specifically from AM anymore to get a free tune for it. And how much do you thin it would cost to get them ported and polished?

Really?? Damn, I just bought a tune from Brenspeed. Maybe I should cancel my order and get the package from AM. Ported heads can run you anywhere from $300 - $1000 depending on where you go. You can do it yourself too if you have the right tools, know what you are doing, and have a steady hand.

yea I highly recommend that you cancel it and go to AM. It says on the website that you need to buy from the website to get the part tuned, but I called and they said they tune any part regardless where you got it. I just have a cai t/b, exhaust, and they tuned it all for me for free (didn't purchase anything but the tuner from AM)
