Is the clicking noise more of a tapping? Mustang drivechains are very loud, so there may be no problem. However, if the clicking you speak of sounds like a rock rattling in a spray paint can, you could have rod knock, which is NOT good. You may also haver a lifter tick (if it sounds like a clock ticking). Even the injectors make a very slight clicking noise which is completely normal. If your oil pressure is ok, then I don't think you have anything to worry about. Try to pinpoint where the sound is coming from.

My gt was making a tick tick tick.....after it warmed up......could not locate it...checked injector noise, cam chain, oil pump....finally no. 4 spark plug blew out of cylinder head and once that was repaired tick never came back....

I appreciate your input!, but actually,it's more of a popping sound. When I'm driving slow(like in parkinglot),I can really hear it. I have no idea what it might be,but I need to fix it before it leads to something else.
I am far from being a 'car guru', but have known a car (actually, a pickup truck) to make a 'popping sound' because of a hole in the exhaust. It was more obvious at idle or 'parking lot' speed because, at those speeds, it was a steady 'pop-pop-pop' that became more of a loud, constant drone at higher speeds.

I have also heard a different kind of 'popping' or thumping noise from a car that had bad universal joints. Could it be universal joints or a problem with the drive shaft?
