My 2006 V6 Mustang racing a 2006 Mustang GT

My friend wants to race my 2006 auto V6 with his 2006 manual GT. What can I add to my V6 that will allow me to beat his GT in a one mile race.

The reason I have a V6 is because I couldn't afford a GT, so somewhat inexpensive parts would be preferred.

Gears should allow you to keep up with him as long as he's stock. And a good tune!!
Have you done any upgrades?
no performance upgrades so far
Gears and a bottle and hope he's a bad driver.:happyhapp
"I hear PRAYERS are pretty inexpensive..."

j/k No really, good luck with that. I honestly don't think gears & a tune will let you keep up with that GT in a mile run. I hope you prove me wrong but its just a feeling that I have in my gut. I'd invest in a K&N fipk in addition to the other suggestions. Still, it's gonna be kinda hard to compete with his torque output over a mile distance. Good luck though...

Id say right before your about to take off act like you dont want to race anymore and as soon as you see him put his guard down, take off:hihi:. But to be serious, i guess gears and some sort of power adder might help you a little.
You can probably outrun him in a mile run if he stops for blue lights and you dont:headscratch: Where are you legally going to find a mile long drag strip? Please use some sense about this... It may be my wife and kids that you guys kill if you are racing on a road way...
Gears, a cai and exhaust will put you ahead of him in a 1/8 mile race but he'll still be in front of you in a 1/4 mile race.

In a 1 mile race he'll be way ahead of you.

A 125hp wet shot of happy gas would help out a great deal, but wont last for an entire mile.

You'll probably need a supercharger or turbo to beat him going that far and even then you'd be spinning 1 wheel on your stock differential. And even if you match his power output he's got 3.55's vs. your 3.31's so he'd still win.

I honestly don't see a set of gears making it a very close race, especially at 1 mile.

+1, they wont help that much... I have raced my friends 05+ 5spd manual V6 that has 3.73s and a vortech blower on it.. I still killed him..I was several cars ahead. We went from a dig..I am assuming the stock GT will destroy a auto sixxer with gears.. Yeah they will help, but i am not really sure how much..

1 mile is a long race..

What track are you gonna race a mile on??

(In other words take it to the track;))

That is very devious :hihi:, but I like it. :bigthumbsup

Nitrous would be good but not for a one time race.

Wow.

Anyone ever see that Debbie Downer SNL skit?

Although I do agree you won't catch him in a mile, a 1/4 mile, or any distance for that matter without a good amount of money being spent. Gears, CAI, tune, pulleys, etc.

And you still might get spanked.

I wanna know why hes picking on the V6 Stang. I hope a GT500 wants to race him. Darn bully.
Warp nacelles? :hihi:

star trek reference, FTW!!!
lol, man im sorry, the mustang v6 only has like 210 horspower, 215 max ( from what i remembr reading ). the gt has 300 raw horses ( a proud gt owner ). gaining 85+ horsepower will dig deep into your pocket. like THOUSANDS INTO YOUR POCKET. is it worth the win? my 05 gt has costed me 800 just for 40-50 hp. so man idk. i would invest for just one race.
