everyone can see the mods i have in my sig. i have ~380 hp at the crank ive been told. i have the tko500, so first gear is 3.27. I saw a formula saying to multiply first gear by the rear end gear (thus 3.27 x 3.73 = 12.1971 ... or 3.27 x 4.10 = 13.407). That site said to keep it as close to 12 as possible, so I guess i should get 3.73. HOWEVER, Id rather not regret not gettin the 4.10s if i think itll be "more" power. i do city driving normally, not exceeding ~55, and sometimes get to 65-70, but not much more.

what are some peoples opinions as to what to get?

ive also read that for 5.0's 3.73 is almost the same as 4.10's in a 4.6 ... my friend has 4.10's in his 4.6, and he loves them. So again ... 3.73s or 4.10s????

I have a 92 GT with a built motor that has been dynoed at 423hp at the crank...I have Richmond 3.73's in the rear...my tranny is built, but it's still a T5 with the stock gearing(soon to get a tko500 or T56).

I love the 3.73's...1st through forth are extremely nice, and 5th is great for going down the highway. I'm one who loves to shift fast, and with this motor and gear set up, it matches your R's perfect when down shifting with a blip of the throttle. A kid near me has a mustang with 4.10's and I've driven it...the biggest thing I noticed was that you basicly are in 1st for less time, and in 5th your putting out more R's.

At 75mph I'm right around 2300-2400rpm, that other car runs 2600-2700rpm at 75.

Good luck with whatever you go with...My personal preference is the 3.73's for the street.

BlueDevil I have the same driving style as you and just got 4.10 gears and they work great for me. The highway drive is not as bad as people say trust me but I do have 255-50-16 tires tho.

4.10s screamin? You must be running a C-4 with no overdrive? 3.73s are only going to have the motor turning approx 3300 RPM at 100 MPH. 4.10s won't be that much more.

See attached chart I made.
