Need a clutch for a 2005 Mustang V6

Hey guys,

My friend has an '05 V6 with 50k on the clock and it needs a new clutch. What are his options here and how much should he look to spend (parts+labor)?

I quickly went online to www.rockauto.com and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the clutch kits start @ $360 bucks! Yet, they include a new slave cylinder - why? Is this a warranty thing?

Thanks,
Eric

Why are you having a heart attack if it's your friends car?
How bad is it slipping?
No it's not warranty - clutch is a wear-n-tear item unless it's super low mileage.
Well, compared to my FOX mustangs, the price on an OE replacement clutch is much less.

I was asking why do the OE supplier's include the slave cylinder in the clutch kits designed for this car? I have never heard of replacing the slave cylinder for good measure but only when they leak.

Thanks,

Eric
