I have a 2008 GT and my FR Whipple SC kit came with the ugly black airbox, ugly tube and ugly 90 degree elbow. I'm sure you get the theme. I want a new setup with either red hose or chrome, as most of my engine is chrome or polished aluminum. I like the look of the cone filters.

I attached a picture, I want a tube and air filter setup like the picture on top. My setup is very close to the picture on the bottom - in terms of the airbox. I snagged this picture from another forum.

Most CAI kits I can find are for GT's with Roush or KB SC, but none for 08 GT's with Whipple SC. The TB is located in different positions depending on the kit. I even tried looking for a 08 GT500, which came from Ford with a Whipple SC, but no luck finding a setup for my car.

I have the HO kit, so I'm pushing 575hp. I plan to install cams and a 62mm TB, along with a new air filter setup - have all that custom tuned and dyno'ed. I will likely upgrade the MAF sensor while I'm there.

It would be cool to know what other 08 GT owners with Whipple have done to replace the airbox.

that looks like a carbon fiber steeda CAI in the upper pic. could be FRPP as they are the same I believe.

I sent them an email too, asking if they had a kit that would work with my setup. It's not just the tube and filter, I need the MAF. Also the Whipple black tube has a small barb that connects a hose to the other side of the engine block, so that needs to be part of the solution.

what a bummer - both Steeda and JLT came back and said they had no options at all for my setup.

There must be somebody out there that had this same year and Whipple kit, that changed the ugly airbox - please help!

I called Whipple and they offered to send me a new ugly Whipple airbox (same one that came with my kit) for $600. plus tax and shipping! WTF? Seems like I could piece something better than that together myself - if only I can find the right parts.cryin.gif

Perhaps try Brenspeed to see if they have custom tuning and CAIs for the Whipple setup. They do Roush and other FI applications, but not sure about Whipple.

Doesn't hurt to ask. They are a great group of folks with excellent service and their tunes are spot on.

Check with these folks too. They were one of the original CAI makers when the S197's came out. Still running one on wifes 06 GT.
