Need advice on building my stock 6er

haha if i gave my dad $1,000,000 he wouldnt give me that car... but yeah they arent for me either. The first time i sat in my mustangs seat at the dealership i knew it was the one ... but i dont know if i wanna go gears and t-lok first or start with small things like CAI, exhaust, headers, TB, etc... so many choices, so little money... my friend owns a DSM Eagle Talon Tsi AWD and it goes as fast as he can push it but he has the motor on a stand in the garage and hes building it to run 12s and i wanna be able to keep up with him... ive got about a year to tinker so maybe i can get it done haha...

$2000 doesn't get you far against a GT.

You might be able to do a drive train swap for that price if you hunt around.

Get an 8.8 rear end with gears and tlok, cai/tune, and swap exhaust. Thats 2 grand right there, you won't be taking hardly any gts, but it will wake the car up. Just don't go putting any massive wings on this car, and you'll be fine. Headers and tbs don't go anything for these cars, fyi.:bigthumbsup

+1 but a 4.10 8.8

its cheaper than installing them in a 7.5 usually

Those mods might even get you the jump on a stock GT in the 1/8th. Beyond that, they're all over you.

I hope you mean the 05+ GTs because with my mods, gears/tlock CAI tune i can easily beat mildly modded 5.0L fox and i can run as good as 95 GTs but S197 GTs are different beast.
FYI if you want to run 12 with your buddies Eagle Talon then you need supercharger or turbo which will cost you a lot more than 2g

haha well ive got a 2g budget right now... later ill have more... just looking to see what i can do at the moment. and yeah in the future it might have a twin turbo system if im lucky enough to find one... then ill be running my buddies talon

Talk to supersixmotorsports.com you can get a set of stage 2 heads for i think $1,080? then do the install yourself its very easy just time consuming then what ever is left put towards CAI and Tuner package

sooo sorry for reviving a dead thread buuuuttttt... i finally put the cai and tune in today, looking at a 4.10 or 3.73 8.8 for her next, then prolly full exhaust headers, idk... the new head sounds like a good idea... lots of money though
