Need Help On Valve Train And Lifter

901 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  macx
I'm doing a head, cam and intake swap on a 89 Gt with 125k miles. Do I need to change my lifters due the mileage or keep the old ones. Also, I'm installing an Anderson N-41 cam with 1.6 pedestal rockers, will this change my valve train? If so, where can I get info on setting proper valve train and lifter pre-load settings.

you dont NEED to but its a good idea...anderson sould tell you eveerthing you need to know...just make sure your rockers are centered on the valve stem ...if not you will need to change your push rods
You'd hate to have a lifter fail and wipe out a bunch of nice new parts.

Agree with checking your rocker tip travel over the valve stem.
Both Crane & Comp Cams have good instructions on their websites.

Just FYI, here's how I did mine.
