Goin rate here is 200-300. Most shops are 250.
That is the normal rate what avery 012 said. Now here is the issue. You need someone that knows what they are doing. If it is not done right with shims etc. it will be a disaster. See if you can find someone in your area that knows of anybody that has done this before, and had a good issue. Ask your parts place if they know someone. They would know.
if you came here id still owe you a car cleaning

man, o lost track of all my old contacts i had in mich, but alot of them are gone now. there was a ramchargers speed shop in allen park. right up the road from one of the roush buildings i used to work at. you could call them and ask whos good around there with gears. any place around canton/novi/livonia is gonna rape you. there were alot of serious race shops east side of detroit, down river area. i grew up at plymouth rd and beach daily and spent every weekend racing on telegraph in the 70`s. there used to be alot of shops up and down telegraph too. keep lookin :so theres a bunch of detroit guys on the forums, maybe give you some help. "go wings!!!"
a good idea might be to find your local mustang clubs. get with those guys, they will know the hot spots to go in your area. :)
Hey Silver, I took my '08 to Livernois down in Dearborn and had them install my 4.10's for $600, including everything and Royal Purple. Not one bit of noise or problems in a year's worth of "spirited" driving.:bigthumbsup I would rather pay a little more now and know it's done the right way by professionals instead of skimping on it and having problems down the road... don't cut corners on the gear install!! Ever hear or think about joining MOCSEM(Mustang Owners Club of South Eastern Michigan)??

thats what i`m talking about :shiny:
I sent him a pm for a mechanic close to me (not too far from him) who has done numerous gear installs and runs a car at milan dragway. I use him for work on my vehicles and am very happy with the results. His rate is $70.00 an hour which I think is reasonable.
Now the question is, how long does it normally take for a gear install :scratchchin

Yes, that was for everything, parts and labor.

Oh yeah, I forgot you were close by too Pc! Does this guy have a shop around here (I'm in Belleville)? $70 an hr. isn't too bad, someone who knows what they're doing shouldn't take no more than 4 hrs. on gears.
That's pretty high, I got mine done for $210. Did you check with the Ford dealership, the one here quoted me $330.
ford quoted brian 900 or 950
If you don't have the install kit or Royal Purple gear oil, add about $150 to the labor.. It cost me about $500 each time I did mine, $150 for gears, ~$125 for the kit and oil, and the rest labor. That was at a friend's shop though, so he cut the labor a little and gave me parts at cost. My last swap I did all the bearings, so the axles were completely out of the vehicle. Cost me about $50 more in parts and once again, he cut me a killer deal on labor being a friend.. (it's his business, I would never expect him to do it for a 12 pack).
ok, i just called a speed shop in allen park, and they said its 300 for just the gears, and then another 300 for the t lok bringing my grand total to 600 bucks! WTF i mean i have all the parts already! i already spent 400 on parts!!!! jesus, im never gonna get these installed

Sent you a PM. He is only about 15 minutes from Bellveville, 5 minutes from me. :gringreen
If I ever get around to it, he will be the one installing the UDP's that I bought from stlwagon.
