Need Help With HID Fog lights

3804 Views 16 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  sjhdumas3
I want to add fogs to my 99 v6 stang, but I would like for them to be HID. What all do I need? Do need the regular fog lamps, wiring, harness, switch etc with HID bulbs, or do the HID's require a whole different kit? My visibility isn't very good at night due to my dual beams being truly smoked. Need help with this, would really appreciate feedback.

If you have nothing their now you will need: fog light housing, harness for the fog lights, switch to.turn them on and off, wire, in line fuse, then the hid ballest with harness and bulb. This is what you need if you wire them to a 12v power supply.

Got my fog lights off ebay dont remember how much they were but i think the stock fog lights the gts come with look dumb and do notging.to see. Mine dont let me see a lot better but it was an improvement. Mine are clear crystal fog lights. As far as the rest of the stuff to put them in a parts store had the wiring harness and everything else, mine didnt come with a harness so i just found one there that worked with bulb no problems so far and had them in for over a year now

Just ordered fogs and HID dual beams today, should all be here by thurs/friday this upcoming week. Will post pics and let know how it all went
Duel beams? like two filiments in the bulb? You only need the single filiment on fog lights cuz you dont have hi and low beams on them.

Started the install, mounting the lights are most definitely a Bxtch, got the left one on, not as snug as the right. The right one isn't on all the way, real tough to reach screws with bumper on. Thought about taking it off but that spells trouble. Back at it in the morning

Looks great, now all you need is a grille delete and chin.spoiler and you have the same front end look i want but with cowl hood and black strips.
