I need help with my steering wheel slop.

I know it's not Rag joints because I don't have them. I have a FlamingRiver performance steering shaft.

I had a friend watching through the engine compartment while I moved the steering wheel slop left an right.

he was watching where the steering shaft comes into the engine compartment through the firewall and said nothing was moving and I was moving the steering wheel about an inch in either direction.

Anyone know what's going on?

I have the same problem with my 85 gt(i have a thread 2 days ahead) with everything new, i think ford just has a crapy power steering system. I am thinking hard on dumping it for a manual rack.

my slop is in the steering colum before it comes out of the firewall.

but yeah after 20 some years the rack starts to crap out. but 20 years is a pretty long time.
