I love the look of the grill delete, however,I do not like seeing the radiator showing in it's full glory. Where can I find mesh materail to place behind the delete kit? I saw a mustang on AM website that has done this and it looks great. I have searched the previous posts but can not find the information I need. Thanks in advance.

I just painted my radiator black right behind the grill delete, and it disappeared.

+1 on just painting it if you don't like the look. My dad is looking for a mesh to put behind his so the bugs don't destroy it. He drives about 200 miles daily through the back roads. We've been on the hunt for a while now and can't find a suitable material.....

Hmm... Kind of my pet peeve with the grille delete... My local DIY shop was what I solved my issue with.

Got myself some black insect screen which is normally applied to windows. It usually includes something to fix the screen to the window, and I just used all of that to get what I wanted. I split it up into two pieces of mesh, one for each side of the grille delete.

I folded the mesh double to get a darker look then just once. That seemed somewhat light to me. Personally I'm pretty content with it. People have warned me that it may cause a disruption of airflow to the radiator (which is why I only folded it double twice instead of more times), and that the car might run the risk of running hot.

It's been on there for nearly 2 years. I've driven it in snow, I've driven it in near 100F degrees. My car has no cooling issues whatsoever. And it has the added benefit that if some rock chip decides it wants a piece of your radiator, it'll have something to bounce off first :)

This pic shows the white material I have on the back of the grille delete piece that is normally applied around the window to hold the screen in place:

Does that help any? :)

I was trying to show the picture from AM website. It's page six on the grill delete customer rides. It's a blue mach 1. I love this look. I do not want to post to owners name here. I wish I had not seen it cuase it's driving me crazy trying to find the same material. All of you gave great advice also. and NEKO- thanks for the pictures and write up. That was very helpful and gave me a soultion to my ordeal. Check the AM site and see what you think.

Both of those look good. The material used on the AM one is something similar to what I had in mind. Maybe paint it black though. I would imagine you could get that at like Lowe's or something. Everyone that I find bites for letting air by.

Thanks everyone, I am worried about air flow as well and I'll have to analyze the material. I appreciate all your efforts and knowledge.

Like I said... Driven mine in snow, and in near 100F conditions... No issues whatsoever...
