You need a flywheel and damper/ balancer that fits the imbalance of the 351. You need a rear sump pan and pickup. You need a 351 intake and headers. The rest is the same, even motor mounts, heads, and timing chain cover.

The 351W truck motor is best. It has the best rods.

I ran real low ten's and drove all over the place with my 351's. Buzzed them around 7000 or so and never broke anything. Very reliable. Probably ran about 600-700 HP.

Unless you are getting a GOOD aftermarket 302 block the 351W block is a much better choice for handling load.

its all about your budget.....

300 rwhp is very achievable with a 5.0 based motor & supercharger

will be cheaper than swapping in a 351....

FYI the limitation of a stock 302 is approx 500 hp

so based on your goal you will be alright using it.....
