My work buddy has a Olds 455ci bb connected to a jetdrive. He does all the work on his junk himself.
I'll bet he can help.
All you want to do is install an ignition?
Don't forget, you can't just install car stuff on a boat. It HAS to be marine quality... especially if your engine is enclosed.

Sweet oldie you got there!
I'm surprised you haven't ditched the bench seat for some loungers yet! LOL.
I'll talk to my friend today. I know he went with a Mallory ignition unit but I'm sure he has some insight for you.

What else do you want besides polish and ignition?

i'm think about going to dual carbs but i think i might leave it the way it is cause i can have a good day on the lake for about $100 of Chevron Premium
its plenty fast enough just want it to look good and run great
it was missin at the end of last year so this winter i picked up new spark plugs and MSD Wires i'll be puttin those on this week and takin it own to see if that cures my problem

ya mine is a jet boat too
i'm slowly restoring it
but i not real sure wat to use to polish up the valve covers
here r some pics of it

with regard to the valve cover polishing.....

for the quality I'm sure you want and need for that project

i recommend using a professional metal refinishing company

the cost is reasonable and the results are usually better than when they were new.....

btw thanks eagle for all the olds info....ironically i may be involved in a 442 restoration
