My Sweetheart has a beautiful 1966 Mustang, and unfortunately her ex husband has made sure it doesn’t start. (At least for now, anyway)

I’d like to be sure he didn’t rearrange the plug wires.

Practically the only two things I'm sure about are:
The engine is a 200 CID straight six
The firing order is 153624

Can someone help me with these three questions?

• Are the plugs numbered 1 thru 6 , with the number 1 plug in the front and the number 6 plug closest to the firewall?
• Is the distributor rotation clockwise or counter-clockwise?
• How I can determine which hole in the distributor is assigned to the #1 plug wire.

From what I've been able to find front to rear 1-2-3-4-5-6 and the distributor is clockwise. Firing Orders for Ford Engines

The firing order is 123456 on the engine starting from the front of the engine going back and 153624 on the disturbor in a clockwise direction. In order to find the #1 plug on the disturbor you will need to remove the #1 spark plug and turn the engine over with a rachet on the crank. When you feel air coming out of the #1 spark plug hole you will be on he compression stroke, continue turning until your pointer is on Top Dead Center (0) (TDC) on the crankshaft damper. Now your rotor will be pointing to the #1 spark plug wire on the disturbor cap.
