Have you driven a 15 ? they are a completely different animal than what you have now.

My 14 and 09 cs are worlds apart power wise - the 14 has amazing power. If you like power the 15 has lots of it on the gt.

In the end it is all up to what you want - not what rumors or opinions you will find here - and you'll find lots.(including mine:D )

I would test drive the Ecoboost and the GT before deciding. There just might be something you don't like about that four cylinder engine that will sway you to the GT, or the other way around.

I'm test driving the ecoboost now. Sitting on the inside I love the interior and has surprisingly good power for what I was expecting. Now from the outside I like mine better, it stands out more and is less common. I mean common in the sense that here in a few months there will be many Mustangs like the one I'm testing right now on the road. I would love to try the new GT but that is more than I can spend right now. I am currently leaning towards just keeping mine for a little longer and see how things pan out. I was only considering this because with my job I start a longer commute (about 45 miles each way) soon.
Thanks for the inputs.

I would suggest wait a year or two if you can - there will be bugs with the 2015 that will be ironed out in the next few years - and possibly like the 2010s vs the 2014's - the styling and overall look will change.

I love my 2009 cs - couldn't give it up for a 2015 - but I haven't drove one yet.

And like Cman said - drive a gt -you might decide life is too short to value gas mileage on a car that is a natural born runner - and brings a big grin to your face when you floor it (like my 14 does with my 4 year old boy!) - again - JMHO.

How long can a small displacement engine make big power? Will these things last 200K like the V8s we've seen? And also...from everything I'm hearing from friends with EcoBoost engines...they are not getting the gas mileage they expected to get. Finally, the 15s will be harder to modify. Say goodbye to easy gear swaps, exhaust kits, etc. Everything is more complex and expensive from here on out. I'd actually like to buy a '14 and plan to keep it forever.

This sounds like a good plan to me. Have fun test driving though!

Well I took it back to the dealer. I appreciate all the great advice. One thing that helped me decide was just the pain I will feel if they even offered a straight up swap. I know that sounds silly but every time I get into mine and start it up I feel happy. Driving the ecoboost overnight all I thought about was missing "Mongo" (That's my cars name if anyone didn't get that, lol).

My own opinion, is that if you push the loud pedal hard on the 4 banger, it will end up getting about the same gas mileage as the V8. It just takes a certain amount of energy to accelerate the car to the speed you want. And, as someone else mentioned, the V8 is working less hard, so can be expected, if all else is equal, to last longer than the 4.

Mustangs are all about rumbling V8 power, but that's just my opinion.

I'd wait. I may go for a 16 or 17 car, even though i think they look like 2 door taurus. They said there are a lot of things i like about the s197, one being that it will be one of the last cars not to be over packed with computers. I am a tech guy and love computers and automation, but i really think that the auto industry is over complicating things, and that means more money when they break...and i break cars. I mean try driving a car with out tcs, vsc, and abs and see how that feels, ooo and add a cable driven TB. But then again maybe a 14 will be a great option too since they have a better motor, great styling and less money.
