Mine was built 4/07 and it has the original head design with the 2-piece plugs.
This spark plug thing isn't a big deal. Just take the plugs out every 20,000 miles or so and check, clean and re-install them. Then at around 50,000 miles replace them with new ones. Cheap insurance to make sure you don't have problems with them and you may actually find out that it's enjoyable to work on your own car :bigthumbsup Also, looking at your spark plugs will tell you a lot about the condition of your engine.
I took mine out and checked them last week and it took less than a hour from start to finish.
Glad to hear that your plugs came out ok. However, I've read where some owners have had misfiring problems after reinstalling the old plugs, and had to install new ones. And doing that every 15-20K miles can get expensive.
