Hello everyone I'm Corey from Virginia, but I live in Georgia now.
My parents bought a 1964 1/2, 289, 4-speed Mustang back when I was in high school. It was in good shape and just needed minor repairs. Unfortunately, they did not maintain it and it has gotten much worse over the years. It has been sitting outside for the last 6 years with an oil leak, no brakes and rust creeping up the frame.
I finally convinced them to let me take it so I can begin the loving repairs it needs. I am in the process of building a house, so the restoration will take a while, but at least it's safe and out of the weather now.
I have already gotten a lot of information from this site, but will be asking lots of questions as this is the first project I've undertaken of this scale. This car is new to me and I want to restore it to factory condition.
The engine needs to be rebuilt and the "repairs" that my dad attempted need to be fixed. The front of the frame is heavily rusted, but the rest is protected by the layer of oil from the oil leak.
All-in-all it's a doable restoration that will look great once completed.
