Well fellas she did it again. It was horrible conditions to race in (low 90's ALOT of humidity) and at first the car really didn't run that good. I did a 13.52 at 103 (60 ft. 1.99) on motor than a 12.84 at 110 (60 ft. 1.98) on the spray. I wuz pretty disappointed to say the least but than I had an epiphany, the way I launch is I would slip the clutch at 4k rpm's when it would grip than I'd mat it. What I didn't realize at the time is that when it would grip it would bog a little and the nose would come so than when the nitrous hit the tires would unload since they weren't planted. For the next pass I decided to just dump the clutch and control the the traction with my right foot, BINGO, my next pass on the spray 12.34 at 116 (60 ft. 1.87). The car hooked much better, the next pass I had noticed the hillbilly in front of me drove his 4x4 through the water and tracked the water all the way up to the line so I decided to run motor on that pass but I was running an srt8 challenger so I wanted to dump the clutch on motor and beat him. She ran 13.20 at 105 (60 ft. 1.91) and beat him (very respectable 13.47 at 104 but my rt wuz .187 to his .542). For my last pass I was running a gt500 and I knew that the guy couldn't drive for squat but I wanted to let em hang and say I beat a Shelby so I gave it hell 60 footed 1.84 and ran a 12.30 at 117 and beat him. I called it a night after that and went home much happier, I'm confident that with better conditions and some suspension tuning I think I can hit 12.1's even 12.0's with my 100 shot, but for now I'm just going to enjoy it for what it is :bigthumbsup. It wuz a good night so sorry for the long story yall just happy to see progress.
It was ok what helped out is that it was virtually empty, literally about 20 cars and 6 were race cars so the street cars couldn't tear up the track as bad as a regular night. I know in october and november the air gets really good so I can't wait :bigthumbsup.
Yup, I generally gain about 2-3 mph with the cooler weather, not to mention the better track conditions = better hook. I'm goin to need some upgraded axles.
