New Saleen Dyno #'s!!

Hey all,

Got some new dyno numbers from my Saleen S/C install. The mods are in my sig. These numbers were done with 90 Degree IAT and the Cold JDM tune, which has 2 degress less timing in it. Car has 8# pulley, but only pulled 6.5 at 5250ft. The blip on the torque line is where the ignition cut out due to that pesky little software issue that Ford has!! So the peak torque is about 416-420 or so. Check out the A/F!! Still have plenty left! So I guess a 10# is in store!!

I'm thinking about a Saleen SC in the spring so It's great to see those numbers. Good job. In theory I'd like to mod my way to about 500 hp (we can all dream can't we?) that being said, are you sastified with your fine numbers? Or are you going to try to bump them up a bit more? If so, what's next for you?
Thanks for the kudos, it's appreciated!:drink:

Oh, this is just the tip of the ICEBURG. Future mods are as follows:

JDM or VT built Shortblock
8.5 - 9.0 C/R Diamond Pistons
Oliver Billet Rods
Forged Cobra Crank
ARP Mainstuds, and Headstuds
Blueprinted and balanced
Bored .020 over
CNC ported heads with Ferrera oversize Stainless Valves
New SCT MAF
60lb/hr Injectors
Stainless Works Long Tube Headers
Snow Water-Meth Injection Kit
Clutchmasters Stage 4 Clutch
New dual Cobra Fuel pump setup and lines.

These are just the next basic motor mods. This around 20psi will net me around 650-700RWHP, maybe a bit more.

Supporting mods:

Strange Axles
Metco Lower control arms
Racetech susupension
Brembo brakes
18x10 rear and 18x8 front wheels (undecided)
Nitto 555 tires. 285/35/18 (Approx) and 245/40/18 front (approx)

I plan to do the enigne this spring or early summer, and have the suppporting mods finished by this time next year. :happyhapp

My goal is low 10 second street car, that still looks stock!!! hehehehe

Actually I'm very impressed with the numbers we've been able to obtain with such low boost levels and the factory fuel system. Plus 16MPG in town, and 22HWY is not bad either!!

Cool! Any idea how many PSI you have boost? BTW there was an article on Mustang Monthly about '05 supercharging and they stated that stock pistons won't take more than about 420 hp due to the ring location...

Yeah, I'm running about 8lbs at sea level and around 6.5 hear in ABQ. I'm running 440 at the rear wheels at sea level, so that puts me around 506 at the crank. Hopefully she'll hold up till the sumer!! Yeah the ring lands on these puppies are really thin. New S/B with forged pistons, and billet rods coming soon!!!
Chuck,

I'm in the shortblock shopping myself and was wondering why JDM or VT? I have been in conntact with both and they are both good companies... VT more proven so than JDM but Jim at JDM is VERY nice and helpful...

Have you considered Boss, MP and Fox Lake? I kinda decided on Boss or Fox Lake and got the better deal from Fox Lake, and Boss seems to be VERY busy...

Are you building in an older Cobra block or in a S197 Alu block?

Thanks for any insight!

Haven't given fox lake a chance yet, but I also have LFP bidding on it too. I'll give fox lake a call. JDM has an outsourced builder that contracts specifically for them. If I not mistaken, he's a former NASCAR engine builder. I'm using the S197 Alu Block for weight. They are good to about 1000 hp with good internals, so that should be more than enough to get the job done. I don't think I'll see more than 20psi, so the aluminum should do just fine. BTW I schooled a Porsche Boxter S today at over 120 mph!!! You should have seen his face!!!!:laughlitt
Yea, Ron at Fox Lake do an awesome job I've been told... asked about how they know (mostly MP and Boss engines here) they started to count up race winners, series winners, frigging World Champions/Reccord holders!!!

He supposedly have an awseome hand/eye to build for your needs, like for you and me a everyday/street-driver/racer that LASTS!

Good job on the Porsche... I'm not gonna make fun of you since it had an S! :winks All my fun lately was a Civic, who after 'schooled' did the ricer flyby and prolly told the story as he won over that "mean sounding, fat tired, brand new Mustang, prolly a blown Eleanor!!!" ...?!?
Yeah, it is hadn't been an S, I would not have even bothered!! But I did run acrros a 70' stang with a 428 with twin 4 barrels, and nitrous!! Runs mid-10's on the juice and mid 11's on just the motor!! And that is here in ABQ at 5k Feet. Pushes 567RWHP!! Lucky I talked to him before I tried that one!!!! Beautiful car!
