Hi all. Been a lurker for awhile and I picked up an 07 GT. Had a 69 Mach1 back in the day. Shoulda kept it !:weeps.

Car came with a shaker hood, flowmaster exhaust and has an automatic.

My plan for upgrades when the GF isn't looking :hihi: is as follows and in no particular order:

Lowering springs
Wheels
Tuner
Headers
Cams ( I'm old skool and love a lumpy cam)
Gears
Last but not least.. supercharger.

Any thoughts on what order I should proceed?

welcome!
sounds like your car is pretty nice right now ( and i'm sure we would all love to see some pictures of her)
i would say in order is depending on if this is your DD or is it take her out on a nice day? if she is a DD i would start on lowering springs, gears, tuner, cam, headers, SC, and then wheels. But if it is a nice weather day car you could start anywhere. but this is my opinion

If you know your going to supercharge eventually, skip bolt-ons for now and just go straight for the blower. Almost all of the blowers out there can produce enough power to make your rods leave the side of the engine block. If you don't supercharge first, I'd say get a CAI/tuner first, then headers or gears, and cams last. Springs and wheels can be thrown in wherever your budget allows, but you might also consider a good set of upper and lower control arms too. Scroll through some old threads, you can find a lot of good info there.

This, a supercharger won't need a new rear end ratio, cams, intakes, etc. The money that you spend on lower end bolt-ons can help pay for a supercharger kit anyway.

Welcome to the forum. :)

I've gotta agree with these guys. Hold off on the CAI/ Tuner, cams and gears. If you plan to supercharge the car anyway then I would start with lower control arms and upper 3rd link, headers and exhaust are always fun and won't have to be replaced when you supercharge the car. Springs and wheels/ tires are something you you can do whenever the mood strikes, just keep in mind brake clearence if you want to upgrade your brakes.

Supercharger kits will usually include a cold air intake/ tuner anyway as part of the package. I am a big Brenspeed fan when it comes to parts and service. They can also help you put together a plan for the car as well.
Be sure to ask them about their Detroit Rocker Cams. I have them and love them. I said to hold off on the cams because there are some grind options that make them more efficient depending on supercharged application or not.
Having an automatic myself, I would definately look into a 3k stall torque converter too. That part will make a giant difference in how strong the car feels as well as make it faster.

Good luck. Have fun. Keep us updated on the car and how it's going.

Nice! I love that Roush front facia. A ProCharger, Paxton or Vortech supercharger should work just fine with the shaker hood too. That way you don't have to worry about finding a new hood.
She's a beaut, but I see why wheels and tires are high on your list. A nice set of 18x10s on the rear and 18x9s in staggard fit would fill that out those wheel wells nicely.

Thanks for the pic. :bigthumbsup

What's the benefits of a one piece driveline ?
1: a stronger, more robust drive shaft. Once you start upping the horsepower and torque, the u-joint in the middle of the factory two-piece unit is a weak point.
2: reduced rotating mass. I shed 19lbs of rotating mass switching from the factory two-piece driveshaft to the lighter, stronger 1 piece. The car both accelerates and decelerates more responsively.

Having dealt with the "woman" factor profusely, I would say get the big purchase out of the way first. It's a lot harder to be inconspicuos moving BIG money around than it would be to move around spring money or shock money or wheels. Maybe that's stupid. It's gonna be real hard to hide the installation of a blower if you do the install. Would you do the install of your blower? If you are that kinda guy, I would check out Sqidd's DOB manifold. Jason is his name. Jason and Alex (his partner) just made a gorgeous, billet aluminum, manifold for our cars (3v). It allows you to use any blower that the GT500 uses. All these guys that have the GT500's have plenty of money and one of the first things they do is pull the stock blower off and get some stupid-big twinscrew. They can get away with it because the GT500's are already forged. The take-off blowers wind up selling for $500 all day long. Infact, Shelby sells the take-off blowers direct. That blower, coupled with the DOB manifold puts you at $3500 for everything you need. The manifold being billet, it's hands down the best looking setup on the market. No competition. The intercooler that comes inside the manifold is top notch too. Both those dudes (Alex and Jason) are smart and innovative. That article they did just featured this month in 5.0's and Super Fords. Pg 102 I think. Anyway so your engine can only handle 450rwhp anyway and that blower gets your there. I don't have that blower, I wish I had theirs, but I'm here to tell you 450rwhp puts you in a whole nother car. PM Sqidd or 908SSP if you are interested. Welcome to the forums.
