Hey everybody,

I have a 2004 Mustang Convertible that was bought used. It is the base convertible, no GT, just a 4.3 L V-6 and automatic trans. Nice to know that there is a place to ask Q's and maybe get answers.

That's a good attitude, Mike. I posed the question "what is the meaning of life?" on here months ago and haven't gotten a good answer yet. But at least you can ask...

Pretty sure it's 3.8L actually.
They did change to 3.9L for one year in '04.
I took the time to google it before I posted that, and several sites showed the 2004 V6 as a 3.8L (including mustangspecs.com). However, I just googled it again and looked at several other entries. American Muscle says the 3.9L V6 was a mid-year change: "The base model 2004 Mustang recieved a new 3.9L V6 midway through the year which offered no increase in power, weight, or fuel economy" over the 3.8L V6 it replaced.

So I stand corrected. (May I please sit down now?)
