Now that the NHTSA has opened a case for the MT82, and needs "evidence of the problem", and since there are dozens of pics and vids of the MT82 "problem", IMO it would be a good thing for owners who have filed a report and have a contact at the NHTSA to email them the videos and pics from the various forums and threads providing the "evidence" they need to push Ford to a solution.

One way to accomplish that would be to upload the videos of grinding, popping out of gear, and failing to go into gear, along with pics of the destroyed gears, synchros, chips in the oil (along with links to each) on this thread for access for all "contactees" to send to their NHTSA contact...

Information, pics, and links regarding the history of similar problems with the MT82 on other vehicles might be helpful as well... ESPECIALLY those vehicles that have had safety related problems similar to the 'Stang.

If it seems to work, media contacts could also be directed to the thread for background vids and pics.

I would also recommend any 2011 or 2012 owner experiencing shifting issues file an online complaint at the NHTSA website. It only takes a minute.

Somehow the thread seems to be missing the point. Am I the only one having trouble connecting a thread about Eddy Izzard to the MT82 problem :headscratch: ?... just sayin'

I was waiting till fall to file. It runs fine in this heat. I would feel stuipd to file while its running fine. When its below 50 degrees its undriveable...was planning on filing then....why do this in the middle of RECORD HEAT..

i AM BETTING THERE ARE 500% MORE PEOPLE with the problems who can drive their cars fine at the current temperatures...

I filed. I want a new trans. This one shifts like crap just DD around town. Hot or not.

Overall I love the car, but I almost hate the MT82.

You should file with the NHTSA now. If they contact you, your information about how well it's doing in the heat can really be valuable to the investigation.

We are all aware of this NHTSA investigation going on about these transmissions. No one knows how long this investigation will take. I am still here to help you guys.
