dump the cats if your area doesn't do emissions checks and put mufflers back on, it won't be as loud, but it'll have a better overall sound.
I found that my car was much louder without cats and with mufflers, than with cats an no mufflers. Without mufflers, the 4.6's sound like a mess.
i mean dont get me wrong it sounds nice right now.. but sounds like you two differn in opinions.. hm i guess im going to have to just try it out. what year gt do you have your set up like that on maxx?
I have a Pacesetter 2.5" h pipe without cats and 40 series Flows and it sounds damn good. The cats are going to create more back pressure than mufflers also. I'd say lose the cats and get some good muffs...

I dont know about that, i am constantly getting asked whats under my hood because i dont run mufflers. I have yet to run into a single person that doesnt drool over the sound of an open 4.6L, including me....
funny that you say that.. i get the same random tipoffs.
anyhow, no cats w. mufflers or hiflo cats no muffs- overall which is louder? which is better performance wise? why.
no cats > No muffs, don't worry about the highflow cats unless you have emissions that's what they are made for. You won't notice a difference at all in power between highflow cats and no cats, save $200 if you can.
so should i get mufflers? and which? because if i delete my cats ill be runnin straight pipes. and **** that.. lol

I noticed a big difference in go when I got rid of my cats, but I've never run w/o mufflers. I'm probably going to switch from the baffled Flowmasters I have to a straight thru (pipe with holes and insulation to absorb the sound) muffler like the Magnaflow which I hope will have a less tinny sound, and 3" tips which is supposed to deepen the sound even more.
