Hey guys, My buddy has a 92 lx 5.0L car that had a leaky intake. We changed the gaskets and all good, no leaks. But,now it's missing. so I thought it was leaking and we just missed it. double checked and no leak, so the next step is pull codes. Now the problem, I can pull koeo codes, continuous codes but no run codes. If I set the scanner to test prior to starting the car it does nothing at all. If I start the test after the car is started it does the usual stumble when the test begins but the car almost stalls, then nothing. The test is just aborted I think.
koeo codes 67 and 85..canister purge circuit and and neutral drive switch....so nothing as the canister is removed.
Continuous codes are 33...again a smog code.

Any ideas on what is happening here? can someone give me a list of things that cause a no code condition? Any help would be good as we have a meet tomorrow night and only have a few hours left to work on it.

Thanks all:bigthumbsup

Koeo code 67 being present won't allow the koer test to run

67 is bad news...causes idle problems, among other things..fix it

ok. I did some reading on the code 67. I didn't realize it caused so many symptoms for such a small problem. Is it true I can ground pin 30 to clear the code of we can't find the circuit fault?

Thanks for the help. I'll let you know how it goes.:bigthumbsup

its more likely the clutch pedal switch than the NGS switch on the trans

you can ground pin 30 directly,or you can unplug the clutch pedal switch and jumper the connector..or replace the clutch pedal switch(aka neutral saftey switch)

watch in the video i this thread how to jumper the connector
Proof a code 67 causes idle problems

Yea it's already done but it was the switch at the clutch. We didn't have another one so I used a 5 amp fuse to bridge it. It fixed a bunch of problems that they have been trying to trouble shoot for years I'm told. I'm also told the codes haven't been read for the full 10 years he's owned the car. His face went white when he saw how easy the fix was.

Thanks man, much appreciated:bigthumbsup

I got the koer codes, but the miss corrected itself when the 67 code was cleared. I did a balance test and got 5 so I pulled the battery cable for five or so minutes then ran the test again and all good. We took it out for 30 minutes and it ran great.
