I finally finished installing my exhaust, Pypes o/r x-pipe and cat-back. I have to admit, it sounds good outside the car, but inside the car it sounds horrible. Horrible enough that I am thinking of switching to an h-pipe. The only problem is I cannot find one for a decent price. I would like one with high flow cats, as VA tests for emissions, but the only one I have seen is $600. Also, is the Mac Pro-Chamber more like an H or X-pipe, and what kind of sound will it produce? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Let the system break in for a week or two before you go ripping it off. The sound will change over the next few weeks.
I was hoping someone would say that. The raspy sound sounds more like a vibration from inside the car, but I will give a while and see what happens. Thanks!
Just find a friendly emissions shop. I forgot who i used when i had my Long Tubes's and o/r h on my 99 cobra. I think it was a local gas station in springfield or something.

The sound may change a little in a week or two but that raspy sound is still going to be there, it's characteristic of an X pipe.
I actually work in Springfield, so I will have to look around. Emissions isn't due for another year, so I should be alright for now. I don't mind the raspy sound so much, just when I really get in it, it sounds more like a bad vibration. Is that normal, or should I get under there and check all the connections, which I plan to do anyways? Thank again!
If it sounds like a vibration, it more than likely is. crawl under there and make sure all the bolts are tight. also double check the hanger bolts, if they're too tight, vibration from the exhaust may get transmitted to the undercarriage and throughout the car.
I'm planning on putting the pro chamber and magnaflow catback on my car. Do you think it will be too loud inside the car? My flowmasters kill me at 2k rpm's.
Forgot to mention, there will be no cats.

--- not to worry; I'll mail you my earplugs. Don't need them in the new car; all I hear is the stereo and the sound of Civics passing me.

Ahhh, Mr. Meatball, I can't believe you would say such a thing. Are you perhaps in the kindest way possible answering my question? It's my birthday you know. You could lie to me and I'd be happy for awhile.

-- wasn't intended as answer to your question; think it's all pretty subjective anyway - just don't want your wife to refuse to ride in your car anymore, and to view the result both based on your trips to work and the long trip you guys took recently. Do what you think you want and save the old parts - mix & match if necessary to come up with final solution.

Is it really your Birthday? - if so, wish you a happy one & many happy ones to come. Having passed my 57th a couple of months back it's safe to say I'm, uh, getting slightly older. But, damn, I already miss that extra 200rwhp from the red car!

HA! Knew it! Your hands will be greasy before you know it!:laughlitt
Either way you'll get used to it. It took me 6 months to get used to my magnapacks. Now they just sound loud, not unberable. O well, its not like im a concert pianist.
Yeah, I'm already getting used to it, especially when the windows are down. The wife doesn't like it though, mission accomplished. :evillol:
